Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Microgynon 30 ED is a combined oral contraceptive pill. This contraceptive contains two types of female sex hormones, oestrogen and progestogen. It contains Levonorgestrel and Ethinylestradiol. It is to be used as regular contraceptive pill by taking one pill at a time. However, you can use Microgynon 30 ED as emergency contraceptive pill or morning after pill , when you have unprotected intercourse to prevent unwanted or accidental pregnancy. You need to take 4 pills at once within 120 hours of the event and 4 more pills at once after 12 hours. You need to consume tablets of first 21 among 28 tablets in the blister. These pills would prevent pregnancy by causing breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of intake of the pills.
